Come and share a poem, a story, a song; or just a welcoming and listening ear...

"If a novel is winter, and a short story is a snow storm, then a poem is a snowball, squeezed."  ~ Bruce Dethlefsen

Welcome to North Portland Spoken Word! We are a friendly and welcoming group who meet the first and third Thursdays of each month in a Coffee Shop after hours. There is water available, however if you would like something else you will need to bring your own beverage. We also ask that you take your container(s) with you. Welcome!

As always, great time. But I love the is somehow rising, surging, growing contagious. It seems each time we meet people are writing even more amazing than the time before.

Would any others have interest in posting poems up that they read the night before? So many things I heard I would love to revisit in leisure, and really ruminate over them.
