It is finally spring! We feel the change in the air and some of us have been going through our homes and cleaning out items we just haven't used or want anymore.
This is your opportunity with items such as used or new craft/sewing products, and you choose from three categories of either swapping them with someone else who you barter with, straight up give it away or sell them for a nominal price. Absolutely no item can be sold for profit as this is a public library and is against the public library rules.
You are not limited to craft/sewing items. There are things such as yarn, fibers, sheets or other fabric, wool sweaters, glass bottles, candle or soap making products, wooden craft items, etc.
If you prefer to come and sew, craft or just come to socialize, everyone is absolutely welcome. There is no obligation to participate in the swap/sale. Also please tell friends and family they are welcome to stop by and we would love it if they hauled off some of our product for us!
The rules are simple, bring in your items, and if you are giving them away, we will have one, two or more tables that will be items that are free for anyone to go and take. If you prefer to swap or sell your items, they will stay at your table and you are responsible for those exchanges.
What will happen to your items when the day is over? This is up to you. You may donate them yourself to your charity of choice; if you brought in books, you can donate them to the library; you can take your items back home with you, or if there are appropriate items you would like to donate to Green Lake Elementary School, Donna is willing to deliver the supplies to that school. Last year Green Lake kids received a lot of fun crafting supplies and the teachers were thrilled to receive them. Northwest Center Child Development due to the lease issue on Queen Anne is not taking craft donations at this time, They were the second recipients of the craft swap/haul we had last year. If you have a different school you prefer to donate to, you are welcome to take your items to the school of your choice and donate.
This should be a fun day with some creative endeavor going on, but also lots of wonderful conversations, so hope to see everyone there!
