Come join our sewing sisters from Seattle Sewing Guild Meetup Group at Shoreline library in the big meeting room.

Whether you want to get a jump start on those spring and/or summer garments you want to make or you have a special wedding, birthday or baby shower gift that you are making, another wonderful opportunity to spread out with a nice big block of time to dig in and get some sewing done.

For those who are interested, I will be sharing my class from Barbara Deckert, Plus Size Pattern Fitting & Design.  There is also a book written by Barbara Deckert, Sewing For Plus Sizes that will be available to browse through as well.  The class is 6.5 hours long so we won't be able to watch the entire online class, but for any interested, you can watch as much of the class as you would like during the time we are at the library.  For those that are interested, we can make this into a "mini" workshop within the meetup.

Also if you attended Sew Expo, we'd love to hear about the classes you may have attended or a tip or technique you saw, so grab your machine and join us in the large meeting room at Shoreline library!

There will be a cutting mat, ruler, iron & ironing board provided but more are always appreciated and welcome.

Great to have almost everyone show up this time but I was so disappointed with the library's wifi, just terrible! It is either terrible or there were a TON of people sharing the data plan because I couldn't get the class to stream for more than a few seconds to maybe one minute so unfortunately didn't get to show the areas where I had my ah-hah moments. Did pick up a lot of good info from Celeste and Kerry about other fitting methods too and I was able to finish my blocks for the table runner! Really looking forward to next month's meetup!

I really wish I could join in this Sunday. Much preferable to what I will actually be doing that day...:p

Hi Donna, I'm interested in getting together with other sewers to do our own projects in that creative atmosphere. I'M NOT INTERESTED IN THE BARABARA DECKERT PART - sorry. Hope this helps in your decision-making.

Ramona, I am looking forward to seeing you Sunday. A few people have now indicated they are interested but there are some who just want to come and sew and there is one who is a super newbie sewer and I plan to give them a sewing project to help them get started, so we are going to have lots of different fun and creative activities going on in the room. I think we might even have a scrapbooker who might drop by to keep us company. The group is very diverse:)

Is this a meetup that we can bring a smallish sewing machine too?

This is the big meeting room at the library, so you can bring as big a project as you need or like to. Each of us will have at least one table and can spread out even more.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
