I've lived in North Seattle almost 17 years, have an almost 18-y/o daughter with cerebral palsy and am dedicated to making her life as full and normal as possible. I love to travel, craft, cook and spend time in the company of good friends. I am a court reporter at the Snohomish County Superior court and can type 280 words per minute.
It depends on my mood and what is going on in life. When I'm spending time with my daughter at the hospital, paper arts soothes my soul and brings some normalcy to the situation. Right now I have been into making garments and learning how to make and alter patterns and the goal is to learn how to make adaptive clothing and items for people who live in wheelchairs. My passion is sewing for charities such as Camp Corey and Seattle Children's Hospital. In 2013 I donated almost 70 hours of my time to make 150 pillowcases, which was almost 95 yards of fabric! I have already built a stash and had people donate fabric to me to sew 160 pillowcases so far! My 2014 goal is to make and donate 200 pillowcases.
I work Monday through Friday so weekends any time work best. I have really been enjoying attending a meetup called The Creativity Place which is at Country Village. They meet usually 6 to 9 p.m. on a week day evening which is perfect for me to get my fix of crafting I enjoy. Janet and Kim are two of the nicest people to spend time with.
Both. I enjoy showing others craft techniques I have learned, love learning from others, but my favorite part of this meetup have been the people who attend. They are so creative, so nice and the conversations are as enjoyable as it is to spend time and being creative.

I love all forms of crafts, playing with rubber stamps, making cards, scrapbooking, sewing. I love to cook, try new food, travel, read. I still love to make cold process soap and go shopping with friends.
Thank you to everyone who attended! I appreciated having a creative and fun atmosphere.
