Join other women for discussions on an eclectic mix of fiction and non-fiction books. We will meet once a month - usually the evening of the first Tuesday - at a member's home on the North Shore. The North Shore Page Turners will be a very dynamic group of women who share one thing in common: an enthusiasm for books. Each month, members read a particular book, chosen by the whole group or by the Organizer, and meet to share observations, insights, and personal thoughts about it. Meetings are devoted to various genres, both contemporary and classic. The club's members may represent a variety of backgrounds and literary tastes, bringing wonderful diversity to each book discussion. The North Shore Page Turners Club will hopefully thrive on both the celebration of literature and the camraderie of its readers. More importantly, the club values the ideas of its members, allowing everyone a chance to suggest book selections and other ideas for making this club a lively group to participate in. I had established a similar book club while living in San Francisco and met some wonderful friends and fellow readers. I am hoping this east coast north shore version, will inspire inspired new and ongoing interest in reading. The club will read everything from historical fiction and literary works to thrillers and graphic novels. Thanks to its members, the club will aim to be an engaging book interest group, discussion forum, and social club all rolled into one. The mission of the North Shore Page Turners Club is simple: provide an opportunity to explore the excitement of literature, one of humankind's oldest forms of leisure, and to meet like-minded people along the way. The book for each month will be chosen by a mixture of voting and consensus. Our discussions include both the book itself and the issues it raises. They are lively, informal, and respectful of everyone's view. We will be an enthusiastic bunch of women who love books and we look forward to meeting you!
