This is a meetup for all those who love to gaze up at the stars. I own a large, 12" reflector telescope and have access to a nice venue on the North Shore for conducting star parties. I also have access to an even better location in Rockport with darker skies. I've been a member of the North Shore Amateur Astronomy Club, and of the Gloucester Amateur Astronomy Club, for many years. I also spent twelve years on the staff of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, where I helped to build NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory. Besides learning about the constellations, you'll get to take in fantastic views of Saturn, craters and mountains on the Moon, galaxies and more. No prior experience in astronomy is required, nor must you own a telescope. Just have a love of the night sky!
