Pokeno NEW LOCATION (Saugus)

  • June 8, 2013 · 4:00 PM
  • Diane's house

We play about 20 games of pokeno (similar to bingo!) for quarters and gifts. It's a lot of fun with some twists and turns! Every participant brings $10 in quarters (to ante up in the pot for each game) and an unwrapped gift valued at about $10 for the pokeno gift table.
There will be no dues for this event, and I bring the supplies needed. If you have your own markers (little flat decorative marbles, pennies, bingo chips etc) feel free to bring those.
So, you usually spend at least $20 when you go out, right? So this way you spend $20 but you always have a chance at winning quarters and a pokeno gift or two! It usually evens out in the end, and there will be a "booby prize" so that everyone is a winner!
It's scheduled at 4:00 so that we can enjoy the good weather during the day, and yet we will finish in time for your own night-time plans.
Movies, anyone afterwards???? (no, that's not part of this event, I just love to go to the movies!!!)

I would love to attend this. I don't think I know anyone, but I used to play Pokeno when I was younger. Forget how to play, but would love to learn again. I will be there with bells on!

Hi Diane and Ellen, Unfortunately I am unable to attend tomorrow. Thank you Diane for hosting. I hope to make the next one! Sorry for the late notice. Let me know when you have the next Pokeno at your house or at Panera"s. I would like to host if the date works out.

Thanks Regina for letting us know. We had a good group of 14 players. I'll be posting another one soon at Panera, so thanks for the offer of hosting. Nancy Mc also offered to host so that's great we have so much interest in pokeno and willing hosts!!!!

    Hi Sandra,
Sorry it has taken so long to respond about this Saturday's pokeno.......my work has kept me straight out crazy busy. But anyway, now to the fun stuff! There are already at least 10 ladies going to pokeno at Diane's house who are not associated with meet-ups. So with the women who have signed up here, thru NSWG, there should be at least 13 players, there may be a couple more. That's a perfect amount to get a good game going. It's best to have at least 10 and no more than 20. You'll see, it can get chaotic with too many people. So you are all set and should have a good time.
Do you remember what to bring?
    Ellen

It's a fun and easy game...my family used to play every Christmas eve after we had our lobsters. Nice memories.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
