Read and discuss books (have a few laughs, too)

Announcing the start up of another book group on the North Shore! Not to be confused with the existing Peabody Book Club, we are calling ourselves THE NORTH SHORE BOOK GROUP. If you are a "bookie" who loves a variety of literature and would like a relaxed atmoshpere to share your opinion of the book chosen please join us! We will read the classics, fiction, biographies, children's literature(yes, we have teachers in the group) and non-fiction. We are open to ideas and suggestions. How about reading the book and then watching the movie version? How about meeting at a restaurant, having drink/food and discussing the book? If you are interested in reading books, discussing and having a few laughs and meeting new friends, please join us!!!

November's meeting, as decided at the September meetup, is scheduled for the Tuesday after Thanksgiving-November 27 @ 6:30 at Barnes and Noble, North Shore Mall. Our book choice is a memoir written by Cheryl Strayde "Wild: from lost to found on the Pacific Crest Trail".

Are you expecting me to lead this tonight? Two months ago I had volunteered but have not heard anything about it since. I will come if you are expecting me to lead it. Otherwise, I will stay home on this rainy night.

I'm not going to be able to make it tonight. Sorry for the late notice but I just got back from the doctors office with a kidney infection. Do we have a book for December?

Oh no, Paula! I was put on the wait list at Salem library and only waited 4 days! Am trying to get through it but it is a BIG book and I can't renew it because it is so popular. Good luck, I hope you find one! At least we are meeting late in the month for November.

Wasn't my suggestion. My book was October's "Perks".

How about your favorite holiday story and why it is your favorite. This way everyone has a chance to share a little bit of our personal history which often colors our reading. See you in Nov.

Lisa, that sounds like a great idea. I thought Heidi suggested the book but I could be wrong.

Thanks for responding, Barbara, but I am wondering who suggested the book not what the book is . We are indeed skipping the December meeting but instead going out to dinner. I just wanted people's feedback on if we wanted to read an easy-peezy book. But I think you are right; it is late November when we are meeting and everyone will be busy with the holidays so let's just plan on meeting and eating at an area restaurant. See you in November when we will choose the restaurant! HOpe you are enjoying the book.

I could be wrong, but didn't we say we were going to skip a December meeting, especially since we're meeting late in November? Also, from the last paragraph of the event description:
Our book choice is a memoir written by Cheryl Strayde "Wild: from lost to found on the Pacific Crest Trail".

Anyone remember who suggested the November book group reading choice? I wanted to get in touch with that person before the November meetup. Also, we will be choosing our December restaurant at November's meeting. What do you all think about a quick holiday easy-reading-feel-happy-in-the-mood-fortheholidays-book for December?

How about at a library? Both middleton and wakefield libraries let you use there big rooms for events.

Hi Samantha, Middleton works best for me.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
