June NTDUG Fly-in: Guest Fly

Grab your transmitters, your ground station, a payload, telemetry rig, your bird, and a friend or two, and push out to the flight line, it's Fly-in time!

Imagine a concrete runway, forty feet wide and 480 feet long next to a 100 foot wide grass runway. Now imagine a dedicated rotor craft flight line, parking for seventy five cars, and a beautiful lake front view. Now stop imagining, because June is Guest Fly month, and the Fort Worth Thunderbirds Radio Control Association is welcoming NTDUG to converge at its gorgeous field on the south shore of Benbrook Lake, in Mustang Park, Fort Worth, TX.  This is an opportunity to act as ambassadors for our hobby at an amazing field operated by an AMA club with a proud, half-century long history. Don't forget your sun tan lotion, and bring your AMA member card. This is Texas in June, and this is an AMA field. Guests are welcome, and only AMA card-holders fly. Not flying? Come out, make new friends, show us what you've built and enjoy the show!

This event is rain or shine. If our venue is a wash-out, for weather or politics, an alert will be announced/posted.

Field Rules and Directions:

Please send me a message to add a site that you would like to have added to the list. If possible, please provide a description of the field, a google/bing map link, and a point of contact for that location (if there is one.)

Please send me a message if you would like to serve on the site selection committee. The committee will meet briefly, via WebEx, twice a month to consider and select locations for the group.

Keep it safe, I look forward to seeing you (and all of your fingers) at the flight line.

Everyone was open to conversation and the exchange of ideas and general knowledge.
However, we did fly over people and the parking lot briefly which is a big No-no at an AMA field. I hope noone from Thunderbirds reports it.

Yeah I will be there. Need some help with my quad. I also now have to either turn in my key for the gate at Thunderbird... or renew my membership. Doh!

The site was confirmed Wednesday. Emails went out to all members of NTDUG as well as a few others. If you enjoy this event or just wanna say thanks for letting us visit your field you can find the President of the T-Bird field's email at their website:
