October NTDUG Fly In - A Droney Scarathon!

  • October 12, 2013 · 9:30 AM
  • 10 Acre Plot, Private Land

For the month of October we have a hobby store regular (call him Andy) volunteering his personal fly space for us!  Suggested attire for this is boots (could be muddy, but mostly for critters), long pants and bring some mosquito spray.  Bathrooms would be by permission from Andi or you can go down the road a few miles.

In the spirit of Halloween and being an adult child, I'd like to encourage our members to find a way to use our drones on Halloween.  For example: buy a severed head, put it on a string and fly it around with your multicopter!  Bring your ideas or prototypes!

I am currently ordering a LOT of NTDUG business cards.  I'll hand them out to whoever shows up so you can quickly get non-believers our web address.

We are currently in the process of acquiring NTDUG.com/.net/.org from various individuals from the internet (yeah, NTDUG was taken already).  When that happens we can set up a proper Youtube channel that "belongs" to NTDUG and therefore we can post the living crap out of all of the videos we take!

Location too far. I'd prefer the last venue in North Dallas

Sadly, I know how this feels. The last two fly ins were an 1-1.5 hours from our house. I think it is good to try and even it out for people on the south side of DFW.
      :)

This one would be a long haul for me, but if it meets my needs I might be able to make it. Just finished a monster build and need a test site. Can you give approximate dimensions of land and is there long stretch of pavement on site?

would love to string up a floating head or a ghost apparition and have it levitate around the guests. The quad would be plenty high but the spectacle would be awesome!
