All NTDUG Events are governed by our SOP and Guidelines Document.
The time has come for another Quad Build! There has be a LOT of interest from old and new users alike to have another build. This time around we are going to make it even easier to put one together.
This is the Grocery List, click on it and go down each section and make your decision. Some of these parts can even be picked up locally, but do NOT wait until the last minute to get them!
Mike's Hobby Shop is one of the largest in the DFW area and we are very happy to be a part of his long tradition as a hobby shop owner. Please come on out as his store may not be open for very much longer due to the highway needing room (Eminent Domain).
Speaker - 9:30 to 10:00 AM
Lynn Cromer will do a presentation on his new multirotor designed specifically for Search and Rescue purposes.
Basic RC/Electronics - 10:00 AM to 12:00PM. - Romeo Espana
This class is designed to introduce and explain all basic Radio Controlled equipment and cover basic electronics skills as they pertain to multi-copters. We recommend watching this video about basic soldering if you have not done it in awhile (3.18 minutes). This class is a must for all those who wish to do the drone build class but have never built or flown a hobby level aircraft. If you just want to come and brush up or even just want to get up to date on modern equipment then you should go ahead and grab a seat here.
Lunch - 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. - Mike's Hobby Shop has a built in Pizza Parlor....
Drone Build - 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
We will have about 4 instructor types to help walk you through this build. The kit chosen is even simpler than our previous! Be sure to get your parts ASAP!!
**This event is rain or shine. If our venue is a wash-out, for weather or politics, an alert will be announced/posted.
The site selection committee is always looking for new and varied flying sites. If you have one in mind, or even a suggestion on what to look for send me a message to add it to a site list. If possible, please provide a description of the field, a Google/Bing map link, and a point of contact for that location (if there is one.)
Please send me a message if you would like to serve on the site selection committee as well. The committee will meet briefly, via in person or via VOIP, once or twice a month as needed to consider and select locations for the group.
Keep it safe, we look forward to seeing you (and all of your fingers) at the flight line.
