All NTDUG Events are governed by our SOP and Guidelines Document.

**This event is rain or shine. If our venue is a wash-out, for weather or politics, an alert will be announced/posted.

The site selection committee is always looking for new and varied flying sites. If you have one in mind, or even a suggestion on what to look for send me a message to add it to a site list. If possible, please provide a description of the field, a Google/Bing map link, and a point of contact for that location (if there is one.)

Please send me a message if you would like to serve on the site selection committee as well. The committee will meet briefly, via in person or via VOIP, once or twice a month as needed to consider and select locations for the group.

Keep it safe, we look forward to seeing you (and all of your fingers) at the flight line.

Here is a picture taken on one of my flights. I guess I should have used my GoPro instead of the FC40. Came out blurry....

Thank you for hosting this outing, Andy. It was great to meet you and the rest of the group. Nice copters and equipment was there for those of us that were new or not as familiar with more high tech equipment. Was a great learning experience and even greater flying out over your field. Thanks again ! ! ! Roy

Just finished a $2 flying wing (minus actual electronic gear) and am excited to fly it from my house to this flying field. It's about two miles as a crow flies and I can chase it while someone drives!

The only problem that I have experienced with AMA sanctioned clubs is that if there are RC fliers there, they tend to tell you to fly in a restricted (Helocopter) area away from the runway and definitely not to fly over the parking lot. Me and my quad are not feeling the love............ lol

      July 11

    • gil w.

Lol. No club will let you hover over the runway it is safer that way. I fly in the heli area if I do close LOS flying

Looking forward to meeting you all! It'll be hot out there looks like! I'm driving down from Denton and picking up a couple of guys in Benbrook. Is there room for a .40 sized nitro plane to come out? Or is that frowned upon? Also do I need to bring anything else? I've got a couple of fixed wings fpv and a couple of quads. Friends are bringing an X8 from 3DR and a 3D nitro tribute if that's allowed. Usually just use it as a point to film. Other friend has a wing fpv and a couple of quads. Thanks and again looking forward to meeting everybody!

Hello Fellow Droners! Im new to the group and looking forward to meeting up with you guys. I fly fixed wing, tricopter and quad. All home built... Im too cheap to buy DJI..... I am from the Tyler Texas area.. WE have a great Rc Airfield in Tyler, Tx. Its a city park.so anyone can fly.. No membership!! It would be a perfect spot for a meetup. Its about two hours from Dallas Here is a link to a video showing the layout of the area.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

      Hey,
I like the park, but it is too far of a drive for this meetup. Im from tyler also. I just moved to dallas aboutn6 months ago.

I have a suggestion, there is a hundred year old bridge an hour north of dallas over the red river. The flood plain is fairly large and open. Plenty of parking.

s great. If the group only flew quads. then finding a place would be a lot easier.

    • Thomas R.

Several of us though have fixed wing also and want big open fields.

    Hey Toby,
I've been put in charge of finding a place for this meetup. Amarillo is to far for this meetup, but we could try to schedule a meetup at a different time and see how many people would be up for doing a trip over there. We do a meetup on the second weekend of every month and that memtup would need to be in the general DFW area so everyone would be able to attend. Other than that the other meetups don't really have a distance restriction.

    June 1

  • Toby L.

If y'all don't mind travelling to Amarillo, I live on a section with a few square miles around us that is able to be flown without interference. I have a lab at my place and lots of take off and landing area with some interesting geography to boot. I had just posted in discussions of possibly seeking team members for our challenge team competing in the 2014 Wildlife Conservation UAV Challenge. If this sounds possible I would like to host a meetup here. If not this meetup possibly another. Thank you
