August is going to be HAWT. So let's grab some food and some air conditioning! The management at this particular IHOP Restaurant has agreed to furnish us with a power outlet or two and allow us to setup a big screen TV.
Let's get together for lunch, show some favorite video and talk about drones!
It is also important to note that the FAA has granted (by special request from the AMA) a 60 day extension for public comment on the new interpretation rule set. I will be making a short presentation on that as well as showing some case studies relating to why the FAA is going the route they are going. I'll wait to present when most of us are there.
If you have something you'd like to say (or a story to tell) feel free to come by and share!
DRONES ARE WELCOME TO BRING FOR SHOW AND TELL!
**This event is rain or shine. If our venue is a wash-out, for weather or politics, an alert will be announced/posted.
The site selection committee is always looking for new and varied flying sites. If you have one in mind, or even a suggestion on what to look for send me a message to add it to a site list. If possible, please provide a description of the field, a Google/Bing map link, and a point of contact for that location (if there is one.)
Please send me a message if you would like to serve on the site selection committee as well. The committee will meet briefly, via in person or via VOIP, once or twice a month as needed to consider and select locations for the group.
Keep it safe, we look forward to seeing you (and all of your fingers) at the flight line.
