I have camped and hiked a fair amount before, but I have never been backpacking. Is there any interest in backpacking trip (maybe a weekend trip) this fall that would accommodate other beginners? Any recommendations on destinations?

The easiest and closest location for a beginner backpacking trip is the Cross Timbers Trail at Lake Texoma. Arkansas and central Texas would be other close by locations.

I'm interested. I've backpacked before, but some of the planned trips seem geared toward intermediate or advanced backpackers.

Next Spring we will see about some beginner backpacking trips to Lake Texoma, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
