As our course rapidly approaches I just wanted to take this chance to let you all know how excited I am to be returning to Los Angeles!
After a long, harsh, bitter winter here in the Arctic out working in temperatures as low -36f, I'm very happy at the idea of spending some time in the warm spring of California! The last few months has seen me intensely busy with both wilderness and urban survival projects, splitting time between big European cities and remote locations and learning lots of exciting new things while doing so. It's going to be great to share the long established lessons and these 'new tips' with you during our course.
The regions in California present some fascinating challenges, and to have the chance to work through some of the regional specifics, including the 'ways to get found', the incredibly important and practical aspects of fire safety as well as dealing with the amazing wildlife you have there, is going to give us a busy, fun filled course schedule.
The essential skills we will cover as well as the opportunity to increase your confidence in being outdoors, and managing challenging situations give everyone attending a brilliant opportunity to not only relax and enjoy a little time connecting with nature, but to be able to take home some new knowledge, skills and approaches that can also have a very positive impact on everyday life.
Please do not hesitate to ask any question you may have about preparations for the course, and here's looking forward to meeting you all very soon!
