I'd like to build friendships with like-minded people and become a stronger Wiccan/Pagan. I want to learn more than anything. I want to honor the triple goddess and the horned god in any of their aspects. I also love that I only live a town or two away and not one or two hours away. Being a mom I also want my kids to have a more Wiccan up bringing, to learn more how to respect themselves And nature. I feel today's cultures have lost so much of our ancient heritages and modern pagans are actually reclaiming what was forcefully taken from them hundreds of years ago. So I am looking to learn from you and yours in a meet up, Blessed Be.
I stumbled upon D.J. Conway's Celtic Magic published by Llewellyn Publications when I was 14 in a bookstore at Woodfield mall. I have always loved anything Fantasy and mythological. I had to have it, so bought it and over time many other Llewellyn books on Wicca and Dragon magick. I dabbled with candle magic but not much beyond that. I didn't know where to acquire ritual items or didn't have an appropriate place to practice. I have done a few simple rituals with positive results. I also have an affinity towards Tarot readings. I own two decks that I have used sporadically over the last ten years. The older I get the more I feel the Goddess's presence in everything.
I was checking my yahoo emails and on a whim, typed in Illinois Wiccan Groups and your meet up group seemed the most appropriate to contact. I looked years ago on the internet but found nothing that was close and having been a mom for almost 8 years now I want my kids to learn from me about their own personal spirituality which starts with me learning more.
I've been a long time Celtic pagan/Wiccan dabbler. I do try to live by the Rule of Three and would love to honor the Sabbats more. I feel a very strong affinity to nature and respect it. Being married with 2 kids I'd love to show them more as well.
