Bring: lunch, water and snacks.  Wear good walking shoes and dress in layers.

Location: Pt. Reyes National Seashore

Directions: From Hwy 101 in Marin, take Sir Francis Drake exit West.  Follow Sir Francis Drake Blvd through San Anselmo, Fairfax, Samuel P. Taylor state park until it intersects Hwy 1 in Olema.  Turn right on Hwy 1 and go north about 100 yards to Bear Valley Road and turn left.  Head West about 1/2 mile and look for a big Red Barn on left and Turn left to Point Reyes Visitor Center.  Go past the Visitors Center and meet at the far end of the parking lot where the trail begins.  With Google Maps use "Bear Valley Visotor Center Access Road, Point Reyes Station, CA."

One of my favorite hikes. Good workout without getting worn out. Nice lunch spot on Arch Rock does get a bit breezy.

Hazel, I'll drive 19th street to Golden Gate. You can join me in any place near 19th. For example , Gas station on intersection Lincoln and 19th at 9:30AM. My cell[masked] for any case. Does it work for you?

Hello! This would be my first hike in awhile - would this be a good hike for me to get back into it?

Yvonne, this is not a difficult hike but it is 10 miles. The most challenging part is up front where we climb Mt. Wittenberg. If your shoes are comfortable and you have hiked this far before, you should be fine.
