Ride the SR Creek Trail and West Sonoma County - 29 miles of Great Scenery!

I rode the route yesterday and it is absolutely gorgeous!  It's going to be a great slice of Sonoma County at it's best, and the weather forecast looks perfect.
Definitely a moderate ride because of a couple hills that are a bit challenging, though not long, and they'll give us the benefit of some nice downhills afterward.
I found a small winery that's really cool where we'll stop for tasting - in the barn!  For those not into tasting, the setting is fantastic, so no worries.
If you enjoyed the last ride, you'll love this one!

We'll have a late lunch afterward at the same place (Taqueria).

This ride is scheduled w/ 6 other Meetup grps, but I will set the limit at 20 riders so the grp is manageable.

All around excellent day - perfect weather, great bikers, fun wineries and always a fun day with Chas leading the clan.

Great day with a group of nice people. The ride was scenic and Chas added a couple of winery stops along the way to break things up and make it even more enjoyable

Absolutely beautiful day, sweet ride, and great company. The 2 vino stops (at wineries) really added to the ride, and I think were good breaks for people. This is one of my favourite rides here locally. We'll ride to Lake Sonoma on the next one (2 wks from now).

Great ride! As I've said before this is a really fun group. I enjoyed the stops at Joseph Swan and Merry Edwards. Fantastic scenery and we were luck to have such perfect weather. Thanks for organizing this Chas.

A great day, great ride, great group of people! The only thing that could have been better was the last few miles of aching thighs and more TBs! Thanks Chas for leading us over the river and through the woods! I will definately be back for more events.

Sounds good, Michael. I'll give my # to anyone who thinks they'll need it. Maybe one day I'll get really organised and print out a route map. (Don't hold your breath on that one!) Maybe someone can coordinate w/ me on future rides and do the map bit. Hint, hint!

Chas, s always I'm looking forward to joining your pack! Looks like we will have fantastic weather. Should some need to fall behind/flat tire, hopefully we can pass cellphone numbers so no one gets lost or stranded. I'll be happy to print out and handout my cell number to everyone when we meet - perhaps a few others might also want help with possible communications as the tribe spreads out over the course.

There's no map, per say, Kathryn. I picked the route. Here's the basic route: Out the SR Creek Trail, r Willowside to PIner, Olivet, to River Rd circling onto Trenton (stop at John Swan Winery), to Vine Hill Rd, to Gravenstein Hwy, Joe Rodota Trail into Sebastopol, (possible stop there), High School Rd, Occidental Rd, Hall Rd, Willowside, SR Creek Trail. That's pretty accurate and from memory.

Hi. Is there a map that we can look at on the web? Might also be useful if someone arrives late and needs to catch up with us.

Depends on the pace, Don. I'll guess 3-4 hrs including a stop (or two, if desired).

There are a couple hills, Adrienne. I'm riding the route today and will post some comments tomorrow.

Chas, Ignore my last question. I found the Change RSVP button. Pretty obvious on this page. Thx.

I'll be using a mountain bike. That is all I have. Chas, I need to change my RSVP from 2 to 1. Where do I do that? Thanks, Karen

Will most people have road bikes? I only have a mountain bike and have found it very hard to keep up with people on road bikes...

Just wondering, any reason in particular it starts at 11:00, not earlier?
