Geocaching Hike at Bond Park in Cary

It's time to get your geek on with a geocaching hike at Bond Park in Cary. Geo what!? In case you don't know, geocaching is a free real-world outdoor treasure hunt. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using a smartphone or GPS and can then share their experiences online. There are 2 million geocaches hidden around the world waiting to be found.

Additional Information

  • A GPS device or smartphone is not required. I got you covered. ;)
  • If you have a smartphone, you can download the free geocaching app that will lead you to your first three geocaches. The paid version is $10.
  • You can set up a free account with geocaching.com, but it is not required for this event. Setting up an account will allow you to see geocaches in your neighborhood.
  • We can grab lunch somewhere nearby if others are interested. Post your thoughts below.
  • Expect to be on your feet for 1.5-2.5 hours.
  • All hiking abilities are welcome. This will not be strenuous.
  • Kids and dogs are welcome too!

    Lunch venues include La Farm and Panera, both close by on Cary Parkway. But as it's a Sunday, expect them to be packed. There's also Jimmy John's, which is pretty good too, just around Maynard Road towards Lowe's and the Dog/Skate Park.
