Climbing at Malibu Creek

I keep hearing about this great place called Malibu Creek. Miles of trails, incredible scenery and tons of fun climbing. Everyone I know who has been there before has just one thing to say when I tell them I'd like to check it out - "When are we going?" The time is right, the weather is perfect so lets go!

Malibu creek is located about 25 miles west of LA so there is a couple hour drive. My friend has a mini van that can hold 5. He will help set the routes and generally show us around as he has been there several times.

What to bring. Im planning on being there all day so a couple quarts of water, food, sunblock, good shoes and whatever climbing gear you have.

Here is the website to the park.

Carpool info :

Lets meet at the park and ride at the 76 & 15 about 6:30. Trying to get an early start in hopes of making it up there before the morning is over. We will be heading up the 15 and crossing over the 91. Should be an easy drive.

Volunteering at Oceanside 70.3, but as a former LA girl who has been to Malibu Creek, it's awesome. That is where REI Santa Monica takes their outdoor school to climb. The rocks were used to film the original Planet of the Apes.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
