Mountain Bike Lake Hodges- 35+ mile endurance ride

Advanced/Intermediate.

We'll start at the trailhead a couple of miles below the dam and head east to Raptor Ridge and maybe even farther.  Bring lotsa fluids, food and electrolytes.  You'll need them (I cramped last time).  I expect to be done by noon.  I also expect to be tired.

Bing Crosby trailhead is in the river bottom behind a vegetable stand that is 400 feet east of the intersection of Del Dios Highway and Calle Ambiente (there's a traffic signal there).

See you there,

Chad

I traced the route out on google earth and it looks like it was closer to 30 miles. Also, only 600 feet elevation difference between the parking lot and the top of Raptor Ridge. Quite a bit of up and down in between though.

Say, is this going to be a pretty fast-paced ride?
What sort of elevation gain are you looking at?

Bet, not much elevation gain but there's a couple of 5 to 10 minute hills. I'm intending it as a training ride for next week's Laguna ride. Since it's not at elevation and there's not many hills, I hope to make up for it by keeping a good pace. I know you're on the same ride next weekend so you should come join us.

I could benefit from the training for sure. I'll probably be the slowpoke of the pack, but I'll do my best. Training works best under peer pressure!

We could add mileage by doing south Hodges also. I think it would add 6 or so....

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
