Okay! Back to the super short hike that doesn't feel like a super short hike. This is a strenuous hike that's perfect for after work. It has 1,300 feet of elevation gain in 1.5 miles (3 miles round trip). The trailhead is only 2.5 miles north of Highway 76 and Interstate 15. Exist I-15 at Highway 76 and head west to the frontage road traffic signal beside the Mobil Station. Go north on the frontage road (old Highway 395) approximately 2.5 miles and make a right on Stewart Canyon Road (it will be the first right you are able to make). Travel under I-15 on Stewart Canyon Road (no on or off ramp) and the trailhead is 500 feet east of the I-15.
We'll meet at the trailhead at 6:00 and start hiking at 6:15.
A google earth file of this hike is located in the files section of North County Adventure but you may have to download the file and rename it to end with a .kml to enable Google Earth to open it.
We'll probably all head over to beautiful, vibrant, downtown Bonsall for pizza afterwards.
