4th annual Blowsand Megaslide

The 4th annual Blowsand Megaslide is on! This year its going to be bigger and better than ever. We have stronger, wider plastic, more than 6000 gallons of water and a new course to run. Venture down a 700' slide that promises to be faster than ever before. Be one of the few to set a world record for longest water slide down a sand dune.  Temperature  will be hot so come prepared for triple digit weather.  Blowsand is a huge sand dune born from generations of windstorms blowing across the desert and piling very fine sand on the side of a mountian in Ocotillo Wells. Quite a challenge for motorcycles, ATV's and any other vehicles. Perfect for constructing a giant slip and slide down!

Come join the fun.

$20 gets participants a wristband for unlimited slides, free hot dogs at Desert Ironwoods pool party and an event tshirt.

The pool party starts at Desert Ironwoods from noon until 5pm

The Mega sliide starts around 5:30  when the shade covers Blowsand and goes until we are out of water.

** What to Wear**

For the slide I recommend some sturdy boardshorts and a tshirt. Sand can be abrasive  at speed. There is a pool at Desert Ironwoods to cool off in before the slide. A towel and change of clothes for the trip home.

Hey, we are going for sure, but can't head out until 1. We are interested in carpooling though if anyone is up for leaving around that time.

That could work for me. I'm in Cardiff but am happy to meet wherever and can either drive or chip in for gas, whatever works for you all.

Sounds good. We have a Jeep Wrangler 2 door, but are happy to drive if you are up for it. If you have a bigger/more comfortable car we are happy to chip in for gas. We are located in La Costa, so it might be easier for you to meet us up here. Here is my cell:[masked] call or text any time, I'll answer back as soon as I can.

Woo hoo! This is a freakin blast!!! T-shirts are limited, so get there early if you want one. Ladies, I highly recommend wearing some kind of cover up over your swimsuit. You hit the water pretty hard, so unless you want to give a peep show, an extra layer is the safe way to go. Extra clothing will also protect you from the sand on the slide. It doesn't hurt much, but you will get scuffed up. Who else can say they experienced an event like this? That climb up the hill is a great workout, too!
