Hike the south shore of Lake Hodges

This is a fun hike that has some length but does not have much elevation gain.  Expect approximately 8 miles round trip and if some of us decide to get adventurous and check out some new areas, I think we can get 12.  The trail is conducive to turning around at any point so if you are interested in less there's no problem.  The whole point is to hike and be merry.

We'll meet in the back parking lot of Rancho Bernardo Community Park near the tennis courts.

I hope to be finished by dark but bring a flashlight and dress accordingly just in case I'm wrong.

See you there!

Thank you Chad, really enjoyed the hike, and the explore part was after my own heart.

Yeah, an earlier hike would work even better for me. I live between the intersections of College/N. River and Douglas/N. River.

I'm willing to meet wherever, but I'm still pretty new to the area and don't know where/what Nessies is. I tried to Google Map it, but it's not coming up with a match.

Actually the 78 isn't any better for me. I'm meeting melissa at nessies at 11:45

I'll be coming down I-15 to Hodges. All of you will be going east on Hwy 78 to I-15 and then south. Nessies is not on your way. Karen, I suggest you pick a location to meet and carpool with Christina.

Awesome, I'm in Oceanside. Just tell me where you'd like to meet and what time... I'll be there.

Christina, I'll be coming from the Fallbrook area. If you are between Fallbrook and Hodges I can carpool. Hope you can make it.

Anyone from N. County that might be willing to carpool? I only have a motorcycle; going on hikes and then getting on the bike is tricky due to fatigue.

Sorry that I can't join you, but I'm hiking Kitchen Creek Falls with my group (North County Hikers) at that same time. Have a great time on this hike. I've done it several times. It's 8 miles round-trip to Flag Point and back from RB Community Park. I've never hiked "round the corner and down into the next valley". I'm hoping to do that sometime soon. If you decide to go that far, please let me know if it's worth it. It seems like it would be, since the scenery is awesome in that area.
