Florida Trail Association Board Meeting
This is to inform our members that there will be a board meeting that I feel is important that all that can will attend. With the letting go of Deborah Stewart-Kent as Executive Director of the Florida Trail Association we need to show up to be informed as to what direction the FTA is taking. We as members need to have a say in the future of our Trail. Deborah has been a long time member and leader that has made a huge impact on the FTA. She has been the face in front of all that is good for the trail as long as I can remember. Old and new members alike, this will be an opportunity to see what the FTA is all about and what part you can play in it's future.

This meeting will be a great place for all of the trail members to learn first hand how the Florida trail system works .
I too am wondering why such a leader as Deborah was let go on such short notice .
I am looking forward to hear the reasons .

The next Board and Chapter Council is in September. I'll post the details as an event. I was very pleased to see general members attending the Board meeting. The FTA is much more than mowing trails, and you get a better appreciation of the scope of our operations when you are able to attend the Board meetings.

If this is a normal Board meeting there should also be a chapter counsel meeting going on. I'm not sure if I will be able to make it at this time.
