Kayak Ichetucknee

We'll meet at the canoe/kayak launch at 9 am for a 1/2 day paddle. The launch site is at the NORTH entrance to the park on CR 238. Drive back through all the parking areas until you see the canoe launch sign. State Park fees apply. After unloading we will shuttle a few cars down to the south end. The trip will take about 2.5 hours on the water, 3.5 hours including shuttles. Lunch afterwards in High Springs. Brings water, sun screen, and a snack.

NOTE: ISSP has a NO DISPOSABLE CONTAINER rule.

Adventure Outpost in High Springs rents kayaks. I don't know what they charge and you'll have to make your own arrangements for rental and shuttle. For liability reasons I don't believe they will let us handle the shuttle of their kayaks. [masked]

5-year-old is ok by me, but it is a longer trip so keep that in mind.

I don't SUP so I can't really adequately respond to those questions.

Sorry, I didn't know this had been posted on Trailblazers as well as Crackers so I haven't been getting your messages. We'll meet at the boat ramp at 8:30 am. After unloading the kayaks we'll shuttle a few cars down to FL 47. This is a longer trip that takes about 5 hours, excluding lunch break, so bring a bag lunch. There are several springs to investigate along the way and opportunities to swim, including at the half-way lunch stop. Bring water, sun screen, lunch and wide-brimmed hat. Usually there are a lot of water birds and turtles to observe.

From I-75 at the Alachua exit take US[masked] to High Springs. Follow US 27 though town and beyond about 2.5 miles. Cross the Santa Fe River bridge and the boat ramp is on the right.

The trip on the Ich has been postponed until September due to the way the state park transports kayaks during the summer. We will be doing the Santa Fe River instead. Meet at the US 27 River Rise boat ramp at 8:30 am, just west of High Springs. Bring lunch, water, sun screen. Should be finished around 2 pm.

Sounds like a great day, but Tuesday is a work day. I'll have to go out one weekend on my own.

Is this a pure kayak trip, or do you think an SUP would be a reasonable option?

Would I be able to bring my five year old daughter? Do they rent kayaks and if so what's the cost? Thank you
