A yoga benefit for BEAM, Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry, will be held Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Ocean Yoga, 51 Pine St., Atlantic Beach at 3:00pm.
The 75 minute class, appropriate for all levels, will be led by Candice Kramer, a Kripalu certified Yoga Instructor. "When I heard BEAM was not included in the City of Jacksonville Public Service Grant funding for next year I sat down and wrote them a check, but wanted to do more. My current work schedule does not allow me to donate much in the way of time, but I thought I could take my love for yoga and bring the yoga community together for a fundraiser for this wonderful organization that does so much for people in need."
The class is open to the public and the price of admission is a donation to BEAM. The donation may be cash or a check made payable to BEAM. Those unable to attend the event may send check donations made to BEAM to Ocean Yoga, 51 Pine St., Atlantic Beach, FL 32233.
BEAM was founded in 1985 by The Beaches Ministeral Association to help Beaches residents in need of the basic necessities of life. BEAM offers its services to residents of Mayport, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach, and Ponte Vedra. Its mission is to keep families in their homes and help them become self-sufficient by offering a food pantry, rent, utility and financial assistance. BEAM also administers the charitable fund and federal grant monies for Beaches Energy Service, which is the source for electricity in Ponte Vedra, Jacksonville Beach, and Neptune Beach.
