It's Baaack! 25 mile Carlisle Concord Ramble

We’ll meet at Brickhouse Pizza and Sports Grill in Chelmsford Center (at the intersection of Routes 110, 129, 4 and 27) and start our ride on the Bruce Freeman Bike Trail.

We’ll ride past Hart Pond and then continue along back roads into Carlisle and Concord (we can take a detour to view North Bridge if the group wants.)

We’ll cross the Concord River and ride back to Carlisle through rolling farmland (there are still a number of working farms along the route,) riding past Great Brook Farm and the Carlisle Cranberry bog, which continues to operate as a working bog to this day. The four-story Bog House, built in 1905, once served as a dance hall for the bog workers.

We’ll return to Chelmsford Center along the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail, and those that would like to stay can meet for lunch and beer afterwards at Brickhouse Pizza and Sports Grill. To see the route click the link below: The ride is a romp, and is suitable for people who ride regularly. We’ll try and maintain an average moving speed of 13½-15 mph. Please make sure your bike is in good working condition, and that you have a spare tube.

Helmet required!
