Hi. My name is Richard. I discovered Qigong a few years ago. I find it more interesting to do with someone or in a group. I work out of town though and spend a lot of time away. Recent health set backs has made doing Qigong even more important.
It is something that is consistent with other breathing and progressive muscle relaxation exercises that I have done and that I do. It is something that is appropriate for my fitness level. I like Qigong. It seems to be a good fit for me.
I first learned about Qigong though a class sponsored by a mental health organization that I belong to. I then attended some classes by the same instructor. More recently, I found some classes held at the Vancouver West End community center. Those classes are on Wednesday though and because Wednesdays are travel and shift change day and because I am changing my shift now I have not been able to attend very many of those. In addition I have some Qigong cds and found some Qigong videos on You Tube. However, because of weight restrictions for luggage on the plane to work I have stopped taking my lap top to work and the internet does not work well enough at work to use You Tube. I also have a Qigong book.
Yoga is very common (especially in Kits in Vancouver where I live). I have found it not so easy to find Qigong classes and people to do it with. Given recent changes in my health I know that doing something like Qigong consistently I know has become even more important.
Welcome to the Vancouver Empowerment group.
Thank you for joining.
Hi RD for your vacation dates - we have a great eco adventure trip to Costa Rica and we have a great Machu Picchu Trip. Any of these sound good to you????
How about you let me know when you're in town next and we can grab a coffee or something along the lines. E-mail me your contact information and we'll touch base! [masked].
Hi Richard! Thank you for joining the group! When are you usually in town?

Hi Richard and Welcome to the VBMG! Getting around Vancouver by bike is awesome! The VBMG is not associated with the Vancouver Bicycling Club (VBC), though, there are members from the VBC in this group!! Maybe you'll recognize someone!
Hi Richard, welcome to the group! What an interesting photo! Hope to meet you soon!
