Burning River 100 is a 100 mile endurance run that takes place through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park on July 27-28th. The race proceeds help to preserve the parks and trails.
There are various aid stations set up along the course to lend a hand to those crazy runners brave enough to tackle 100 miles.
I am captain of the Covered Bridge Aid Station and I'm looking for people to help out.
The job is quite simple and includes:
-setting up food and fluids for the runners
-helping runners when they come in with anything they need to keep moving.
-recording when runners come through
-pretty much hanging out and having a good time while helping our community!
This race is serious due to mileage and difficulty of the course. My aid station is at approximately mile 80; a lot of it is in the evening hours. This is one of the most important aid stations. Runners will be tired, thirsty, tired, hungry, tired, in pain physically and mentally and really, really TIRED!! We need positive helpful people there to assist them with fluids, food and most importantly support. The station opens around 3 pm on Saturday and closes at 5 am Sunday.
NOTE this is in the late afternoon, evening, and into the morning hours!!
I am asking for a 3-4 hour minimum please!!!
You can volunteer for as many hours as you like. You may bring a tent to camp out (I will there the whole time frame and will be pacing a runner as well.)
I will be updating this as I get more details and also list of items needed.
I ASK THAT ONLY SERIOUS VOLUNTEERS RSVP! I WILL NEED SEVERAL PEOPLE TO HELP OUT AND WILL BE COUNTING ON EVERY PERSON!!!
Feel free to email me with any questions. I will be updating this event in the coming weeks.
