This is part of the Tunes, Trails, Tubes and Tents adventure weekend.

(You may still kayak with us even if you are not attending all of the other weekend events.)

We'll wrap up our adventure weekend with kayaking and tubing on the Cuyahoga River with Crooked River Adventures in Kent. I have paddled here before and it is a nice stretch of river. The trip is about 6.5 miles long.  Kayak rentals are $30 or $50 for a canoe (which you can split between 2 or 3 people). If you have your own boat the cost is only $10.

After kayaking we will eat lunch at the park and then rent tubes to float down a half-mile section of the river. Tube rental is $5 per hour.  The rest of the weekend activities can be found HERE.

I have lived in the area for 13 years and never done this, so am looking forward to it, as long as Mother Nature plays nice.

I would like to come and bring two of my children. Would that work? And if I haven't been to any of the other events, where would I meet the group?

Sure Christy. The 3 of you could probably go in a canoe. Is one of the old enough to paddle? You could just meet us at the livery in Kent that morning.

What time and where do you plan to have lunch? Actually I'd rather tube and if I don't make it Plan B would be just as wonderful!

Hi Anita, I'll try to post a time schedule later this week. But we will probably kayak for a couple hours, then tube for an hour or so. By then it should be around 12:30. I'm thinking maybe we'll just grab some lunch at one of the places in town with an outdoor patio.

Hey Cathie, I'm from N.Olmsted. Where are you coming from? Maybe the 2 of us can carpool so that we can keep on time,

    Is this child friendly?

    July 1, 2013

    • Brad

Yes -- The kayak rental place requires participants to be at least 3 years old to use a canoe and 8 years old to use a kayak.
