41degrees N kayak rental in the marina. reserve your kayak @[masked], or bring your own. They have some tandems. I also will be bringing my ten yr. Old get there at 9:30 put in about 10. If any one would like to volunteer to lead that would be great as I have never been before.

Looks like we might get a little sun this morning and no rain till later. As for the lake let's stick a toe in it and see what happens :)

Michele. I went and reserved in person this PM. I think they have enough for our group , regardless. If you are in doubt , I am sure somebody who has reserved in our group will end up canceling. Then you would potentially have that person's kayak as an option.

You can go to http://waterdata.usgs.gov/oh/nwis/uv?site_no=04201500 to get current river conditions. Hope this helps.

Just a note, the Yak Shack has been closed recently due to the amount of rain and rising water on the Rocky River. The forecast is for more rain so ???? If rain continues I suggest cancel due to the power of the water flow making a rescue difficult and paddling upstream ugly. Updated info. on Facebook search for: Kayak41north

I just called them and reserved my kayak. The guy told me he would call Sunday morning to cancel if the weather is bad.

If you have a reservation they will call you, but they don't get there until 8:30, so don't expect a call until around 9:00.

I did this trip out on the lake and East to the "cliff house" and back 1 1/2 hours. With my daughter who is a beginner.

Paddling at a moderate pace it takes one hour (two hours round trip) to view downtown (which is past the "cliff house"). Plan for 2 1/2 - 3 hours for check-in, set-up, the actual trip, and check-out.

Hi I was planning on kayaking there with one of my daughters so we will join you and I will be happy to lead the group out on the lake. If the weather inclement or lake is rough we will not be going as I'm not much of a river kayaker.
