Monday Hike at Punderson State Park 11755 Kinsman Road, Newbury, Ohio

Plan to meet at 6:30 pm at the DISC GOLF parking lot, Punderson State Park 11755 Kinsman Road, Newbury, Ohio.

To find the DISC GOLF parking lot, enter the Kinsman Road Park entrance, make the first right onto Coppedge Dr (should be a sign for the DISC GOLF Parking). Continue straight on Coppedge Drive until it ends in the DISC GOLF parking lot.

This will be a 4.5 to 5 mile hike taken at an easy pace.

Afterwards, there is a Dairy King ice cream stand just east of Punderson State Park at the corner of Kinsman and rt 44. All are invited, especially if any one needs to reload some calories after the hike.

Gas for an hour drive to attempt to hike in the rain.... Approximately $7.00

Time spent driving to and from attempted hike in the rain...1 hour and 45 minutes

Sharing ice cream with two new hiking buddies ......Priceless!

Trish, Alvin, Joe and i were able to squeeze in a fine--though very muddy--hike during the short window of time after the rain let up. Fun! Then it stormed all the way home!

Got back to Concord and got a couple dry miles in, then the rain rolled back in. Pretty wet by the time we, Jim's and I, got back to the car. It wasn't cold and it wasn't lightening. I was able to show Jim "Chair Factory Falls" in full force. The muddy water was bellowing over the slate falls. Hope to see everyone next week!!!

Despite the weather, it was a good turnout. Thanks Steve, we'll need shades next time.
