White Pine Hike

In addition to the natural beauty that we usually encounter on our hikes, this one will include a bit of history. We will begin by joining a naturalist-led hike that will take us under towering white pines and eastern hemlocks to learn why white pines were so important to early settlers in the area, and why this group of old growth trees may have been spared the loggers' axe.

Following the presentation, we can continue on our own to hike the Scenic Loop as well as some other trails before we return to our cars. Total miles will be 5-5½ or maybe more, depending on the feelings of the group. There will be a few hills.

Hi...I'm curious about the pace of the hike. We would have about 3 hours of daylight for the 5 plus miles. How long would the presentation part be? Thanks!

The hike is listed for 2-3:00, 1-1½ miles, so we should have a couple more hours of daylight to play with. We will hike at a moderate pace.
Of course, anyone is free to leave after the interpretive part if they wish.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
