Come on out to Ohio's north coast to celebrate the state's longest swimming beach! This free, family-friendly outdoor celebration will incorporate the arts with the elements of wind, water and sand to create an interactive event. Check it out here: http://cityofmentor.com/visit/headlands-beachfest/
Imagine a mile long, natural, sand beach filled with colorful flying kites, amazing sand sculptures, strolling performers, sailing races, kayaking & paddleboarding, arts vendors, children's crafts, beach music and steel drum bands, food and more. This inaugural event is hosted by the City of Mentor and Headlands Beach State Park.
We'll meet at the far end of the P-19 parking area (turn LEFT after entering the park and drive to the end.) and walk the one-mile beach to partake of all the fun.
Wear your beach attire, of course, including sandals or flipflops for your feet. And don't forget to bring sunglasses, sunscreen and drinking water!
Also, bring snacks if you wish; I plan to sample some food from the local vendors :-)
~If there is enough interest, we might escape from the crowds by taking a hike on the Zimmerman (part of the Buckeye) Trail: about 4 miles out and back. If you would like to do this, bring your hiking shoes along.
