Scottsdale - Tue IHOP Game Night

  • Oct 1, 2013 · 6:00 PM

This particular IHOP restaurant is offering us 10% off our checks during this event!

Come join us for games at IHOP in Scottsdale! We're a nice, laid-back group. We'll have dinner and then start to play. (Please keep food and drinks away from the games). Bring something of yours to play, or just enjoy what others have brought and make some new friends. :-)

DIRECTIONS: The IHOP restaurant is located in the mall at the NW corner of Raintree Dr and AZ101 (exit 39) between Bank of America and Paradise Bakery. You can access the parking lot easily from 87th St just off Raintree. Follow these directions as google maps can lead you to the wrong spot.

Our favorites include selections from boardgamegeek such as:  Puerto Rico, Agricola, Power Grid, Dominion, Race for the Galaxy, Battlestar Galactica, Stone Age, Pandemic, Railroad Tycoon / Railways of the World, Ra, The Settlers of Catan, Endeavor, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, Citadels, Chicago Express, Thunderstone, For Sale, Shadows Over Camelot, Alhambra / Granada, Shadow Hunters, and many more!

If this is your cup of tea, join the fun. New players are welcome, we teach all games.

I am new to the area, and have been trying to find a board gaming group I like. I have come across a number of board gaming groups, but it is unclear, in the name and/or the description, what type of board gaming the group does, either party games, Euro Games, Strategy games, or even Card Games. I also noticed, groups meet at different times, places, and days of the week, but in general seem to mostly be the same persons that show up to these meetups, or the same meetups being listed under different listings and names on meetup. I was wondering, if there could be a consolidation and a clearification to all these different or same meetups. Or at least, specify exactly what kind of games the group plays. thank You!!!

Some meetup groups cater to specific game types (or even to specific games), this one doesn't. Games are chosen by consensus, i.e. someone says "who wants to play X?" and if they get enough for a table to play, they do. If you want to find a group you like, I suggest you attend some events and find out in person. :-)

The metropolitan area is sprawling, different groups focus on different locales and with over 4 million people, interests vary from card games to euros to war games etc. Yes, people are free to join several groups and being a member of several groups is easy, since all your groups upcoming events are combined in your personal Meetup calendar.
