Difficulty: Super Easy
Distance: 10+ miles
Estimated Time: 5+ hours
Time is running out to get prepared for the Tetons. So strap on the backpack if you want and get in a training hike.
We will meet at the Jones Point Parking Lot on 9W and start the hike from there. From there we will work our way West to The Timp (blue trail). We'll continue West and climb to West Mt. After that we will continue past West Mt. and head South to meet up with the Timp Pass. We'll take the Timp Pass (red trail) and work our way out taking the same trail that we took in.
If you've never done any of the following:
1) Hiked before
2) Carried a 35 pound backpack
3) Learned how to read a map
4) Learned how to use a compass
5) Learned how to use a gps
6) Know how to handle 90 degree weather
Then this is the hike for you!!
This is a guinea pig friendly hike!

So, if we hike in -10 degrees, I guess, it is only fair we hike in +94 degrees!!! Either we are totally dedicated hikers or just crazy ones!!! Although, it seemed a shortcut, but faded blue unmaintained trail and the 1777 trail were so rocky, I think, it only slowed us down. So, next time, let's stick to the plan and stay together! Thank you Joe for organizing this hike. Haha, we swear the weather forecast you posted only showed high of 84 degrees! June, you rock girl!!! You are amazing! To everybody, thanks for sweating it out. Not sure about the super easy rating, but this was a super hot hike!

I sincerely apologize to everyone who waited for me while I took the detour to Anthon Wayne. Thanks to June for chasing after me and now I know June can run. All those training hikes pays off, she is definately ready for Great Teton. Despite I did not believe Joe that this is supposed to be a shorter hike than I expected, it was great workout, thank you Joe for organizing and thank you everyone for your company and patience.

You should come to Philly and make a sale or two. 109 today. Brutal. I'm glad I was sitting in the shade watching them play baseball and not me hiking.

Take the Palisades parkway to the end, at the Bear Mt. Circle take 9W South, go about 4 miles. The parking lot will be on the right side. It's a big parking lot.
