We will climb Rusk first & then drive over to bushwhack Halcott.

Thank you Ruchik for leading these hikes. It was a snowshoe hike all the way to Halcott and back. Although the trail was broken, there were a lot of nettles, broken branches, and downed trees that made it slow-going. We went up to Rusk in snowshoes following a broken trail. We switched to microspikes on the way down. The soft snow and the steepness just propelled me running down the mountain on the descent. Awesome hike! Thanks Joe for waking up early to join us on these hikes. Your alarm worked!!!

We started an hour late for Halcott, finished an hour early with Rusk. There was a nice soft trail up to Halcott and Rusk. Rusk was nicely packed in and we used microspikes for our descent. Lourdes actually ran down 2 miles in ~40min. A new record of sorts I guess! Dinner at Brios and a perfect day of small snow whacks!
