ABOUT US: This is a group for anyone interested in: Hiking, Backpacking and Camping (occasionally in remote, inaccessible wilderness areas); Orienteering; Boating, Canoeing and Kayaking; Motorcycle Rides, ATVs, UTVs, 4X4s and Off Highway vehicles; Skiing and Snowshoeing; Bicycling; Photography; SCUBA; TRAVEL; get togethers and just about anything else. We often combine activities (i.e. Boating, camping on a remote beach, hiking and Photography) in one event. The more extreme/remote events listed on this site will be run as a "Team Concept" for efficiency and safety. See the "Pages" tab for more information.

Prospective Members: (Added 1/1/15) As of this date, we require a brief introduction (including a minimum of your first name), an answer to the questions (even if it is "no" or "does not apply") and a profile photograph that shows your face for admittance to this group! The reasons for these requirements should be obvious. One of the top reasons is for existing member safety. Existing members without a photo will be grandfathered in.

EVENT PARTICIPATION IN REMOTE AREAS: Added on 10/3/2014. (For more information, click on the "Pages "Tab). I want everyone to enjoy themselves safely on our events. I have added some important information and notes regarding participation in events that are remote, extreme or require a lot of effort. If we have no experience with you, if you have had a difficult time on an event that we are aware of, or if I feel you may be overestimating your abilities; you will need to talk to me and convince me you can do the hike or other event without hurting yourself or slowing everyone down and that you completely understand what you're getting yourself into! I want you to understand that YOU have a responsibility to the other people in the group as well as to yourself to not participate in anything you're incapable of completing or keeping up at a reasonable pace with the rest of the group. Because we are not professionals; we are not search and rescue teams; we are not medical personnel, and, in a remote area, we may have minimal first aid supplies; we are not going to be able to do anything but go for help if you need it. If you are having difficulty because it's obvious that you got in over your head - yeah, we'll be angry; Therefore I retain the right to refuse any member's participation in a particular event.

 IMPORTANT NOTES:  (Modified on 3/24/2015):

1. All skill levels, singles, couples, and families are welcome to join Northern Arizona Adventures but members must be over the age of 18, and minors on events must be accompanied by their legal guardians. Be aware that I retain the right to screen you for compatibility with other members on any particular event as well as your experience and physical ability to complete the event. Members are welcome to bring guests on our events, but be aware that members have priority and guests (that have not put down money for permits or fees where required) may be bumped by members when participation is limited due to seating capacities or other participation restrictions. Guests of members will be REQUIRED to sign a written copy of the DISCLAIMER prior to participation!

2.I do NOT charge for membership in this group but pay a fee for this site. I am doing this because I believe that it is a good way to participate in activities with a group. Since this site is FREE to all members, If you have complaints; address them directly to me instead of starting public discussions ON MY SITE!!! I go out of my way to accommodate members  whenever possible; but am also involved in other activities that require a lot of commitment and time on my part. This means that I am not always able to see messages or comments before a trip. If I do not respond, it is because I did not see it. If I do not respond, and you have made a special request, it is up to YOU to decide if you still want to attend under the original terms (meeting place, etc.). I do NOT get paid for doing this. I am always open to constructive criticism; but in the future, any members starting public discussions similar to "Discussions", "Information" on this site without contacting me first or without my permission will be dismissed from the group!

OTHER GROUPS: Because many members of this group are also members of other groups; we may, with the other group's permission,  list events in conjunction with those groups (especially If we feel that our members may be interested). If an event is listed on more than one site, Please RSVP on one site only. It gets confusing for organizers (especially if permits or other factors limit the number of attendees).

NOTE- When we list an event from another group, it is not intended to be an endorsement by this group; it is there to let you know that we noticed an interesting event, we may participate and feel you may  also be interested. You can then make up your own mind bearing in mind that every group has it's own  philosophies and nuances!

RULES FOR ADDING EVENTS TO NORTHERN ARIZONA ADVENTURES: Any member of this group can schedule a meetup (Member meetup events will not be announced until an Organizer announces them or 3 members say they are going. If you need assistance listing an event, send me a message and I can assist you or list it for you if you give me all the details). If you schedule something that requires expert skills, special equipment, a hike with narrow trails and steep drop offs (such as could be found on certain Grand Canyon hikes), you MUST list those details so members can assess their skill levels before signing up. More information is better than less! You must Update events if new information comes to light (for example finding out that a hike is more difficult than originally listed). I consider safety very important. If you are listing an event in conjunction with another group, make sure you have permission from the organizer of that group before you list it here. I retain the right to review, add notes to and/or CANCEL any events listed on this site that I feel do not have enough information or do not meet the criteria of Northern Arizona Adventures!

SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT: "Ride along s" may be welcome on certain events! This is dependent on the owner of the equipment. The owner of the equipment has the right to set any rules he or she wants regarding their equipment. If you are riding along, it is your responsibility to check with the owner of the equipment regarding any special rules he or she may have. Participation is limited to the number of seats available. "Ride along s" will be required to contribute various amounts to cover expenses of drivers/equipment owners. Each owner has the right to determine the amount of expenses "ride alongs" will contribute. Again, if you are riding, it is your responsibility to verify this before the event. Some activities will require you to own or rent equipment in order to participate. If you need information on renting a Kayak, Motorcycle or other equipment; let me know.

IMPORTANT NOTE-We have a second web site available in the event this site is down. I started it because we have a lot of events planned that require permits and/or frequent visits to one of our sites to keep up with event changes (Even one day of no access to information can ruin a trip or cost people money)! I have cards available for members listing both sites but you should visit the other site and make it a Favorite, especially if you have RSVP'd to an event and can not get on this site. I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
