All are welcome to come spend a relaxing, yet informative afternoon at the park in Penn Valley, situated on Hwy 20 between Marysville and Grass Valley. Western Gateway Park has been the site of AFA gatherings in the past - it's lovely rural setting is perfect for a simple afternoon of friendship and community. With the first signs of Spring, and temperatures in the low 60's, it seems like the perfect thing to do!
Meet us around 2 PM, at the lower end of the park by the creek where you'll find plenty of parking. Children will love the play structure and we'll have our choice of picnic tables, though you might want to bring your own chair.
Steve McNallen, well-known spokesperson and founder of the first Asatru organization in the US in the early 1970's, will give a talk outlining the fundamentals of Asatru. Regardless of your knowledge or experience, you're sure to come away with new insights and ideas on improving your connections with the Gods and Ancestors.
Steve will lead us in blot to the Holy Powers. (Participation in any ritual is optional.)
You can help by bringing an appetizer, snack or beverage to share. Write to Sheila if you have further questions: sheila -at- runestone.org
