Let's Create a Community Garden !

I live west of Redding and I have one garden that is a little shady for carrots, lettuce, peas, etc. I am also preparing another garden that will be in the full sun for corn, beans, melons, etc. I would like to get together with others to prepare and plan the gardens where we can plant and reap the results. We can then freeze or can our results for later. I live in a beautiful area where we can go hiking and then do some gardening and you can take home the rewards.
Anyone interested? Please let me know - we need to start preparing and planting now. My number is[masked], call me if interested.

Sorry Kathy! I just noticed the message thing in the top. I know my parents garden is in and I don't think I will get around to doing one at our house. I'm sure my Dad and I would be happy to help one day with something though. :) [masked] (text/ call)

Thank you so much Stephanie! I will be posting another get together in a couple of weeks after I get some more raised beds done. I do have the north garden that needs weeding if you are into that. It has rained the last couple of days and I want to get it cleared before it dries up too fast. I will call you either tomorrow or wednesday to see if you are available. I have a ton of seeds so if you have a favorite, just let me know, I might have some seeds. Thank you again.

Yeah! So I found 8600, 8639 and then number went to 8700... I am sure it was right under my nose and I couldn't find it!! That far out, I am not sure I would be able to put a lot of time into the garden anyway:)

I am so sorry, I wish you had called, my address is right after 8703, the county did not post the numbers in order. We got a lot planted and I will be posting another in 2-3 weeks for more plantings. I hope you will be able to make it.

I'm interested and have my own garden. I am not sure how often I can show up at the meetups but will participate on line whenever I can. Did you know you can plant most of the year here. I have already been harvesting various lettuce's and my peas are already flowering even after being partially buried in snow.

Hi Leonard, welcome to gardening! I just brought in a bunch of soil and I am using rice straw bales for the raised beds. I would love to get some advice on gardening. I am always willing to learn more. Please let me know if you want to help, my number is[masked]

I just moved to Redding & I'm new to gardening, but my father can grow the best tomatoes ever. He loves to garden! I'd be willing to learn and help. Maybe bring Dad along once or twice to give his sage advice too. The hiking part would be an a great little bonus.

I work from home, so my schedule is fairly flexible. Mary

Please RSVP so this project can be announced to the group. My fence is almost done, so I think we can start planting within the next 2 weeks or less, depending upon the weather. This is my goal.
We should all meet and talk about what to plant. You can call me at[masked], leave a message and I will get back to you. Spring has Sprung!

Thank you for your response. We can work in the shady garden anytime and I am working on building the new full sun one. What are good days for you so we can get together?
