Feather Falls

Feather Falls National Scenic Trail offers you an incredible view of Bald Rock dome, Bald Rock Canyon, and the 640 foot waterfall. The trail to the falls forks about a quarter of a mile down the path. The lower trail to the left is shorter at about 3.5 miles, but more difficult due to occasionally steep elevation changes. This trail is primarily downhill to the falls three quarters of the way. The final quarter is primarily uphill. The upper hill trail to the right is about 4.5 miles and makes the trip to the falls much more gradually. The trails join again just before the final three quarters of a mile climb to the Feather Falls overlook.

Allow a minimum of 4 to 5 hours to hike the nine mile loop.

Poison oak is very common along the trail.

Carpooling is highly recommended. This is a 100 mile drive, so allow up to a two hour drive each way, and remember to tip the chauffeur for the ride.

Excellent day out on a trail. The hike for some was 9-10 miles in all, others 8-9 miles on a smooth dirt, shaded trail to Feather Falls. Great to see some new faces and share an awesome adventure.

I hiked this last year with the Chico group. It's an awesome hike... Bring a lot of water, lunch and plenty of snacks like raisins, fruit (oranges are great), etc. You'll need them the last 2 miles on the way back... You'd be surprised how many folks go on a hike like this with not enough water and no food. We met some like this at the half way point... Oh, bring your cameras because you'll want to take some pictures of the falls. I hope you all have fun and I hope to join you all next year when my legs will let me go the distance... :)

If you think you can, or think you can't, you're right either way~ You've done too many slacker special H&P's with a certain so and so I do believe......

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
