Burney Falls Day Hike on the Pacific Crest Trail Sponsored by the Sierra Club

June 29, Sunday, This is a repeat of the June 22 outing but in the opposite direction. This outing will start at Highway 89 at the entrance to Burney Falls State Park approximately 6.5 miles east and 6 miles north of Burney. After dropping off at least one vehicle at the ending point on Highway 299, we will car pool to the hike start point on Highway 89. We will hike on the Pacific Crest Trail approximately 7 miles arriving at the PCT crossing on Highway 299. The terrain is mostly flat to slightly rolling with moderate amounts of tree cover. Bring plenty of water and a sun hat. Meet in Redding at the ShopKo parking lot near Arby’s at 8 am or at the Safeway parking lot next to Highway 299 in Burney at 9:15 am.
