July 25 - July 27 (Friday - Sunday), Lassen Park Wilderness Family Campout. Bring your entire family and enjoy the wilderness areas in Lassen Volcanic National Park. This outing is intended to be a fun experience forthe entire family, to experience the beauty and unique features of this wilderness area. We will assemble at the groupcampsite at Lost Creek Campground inside Lassen Volcanic National Park five miles south of Manzanita Lake on the mainpark road on Friday afternoon-evening. Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon will be set aside to hike in differentwilderness areas of the park with 2 to 5 mile hikes. A potluck dinner is planned for Saturday, with a campfire. Sunday morning will be a guided walk at a nearby location. Bring your car camping gear, food, and plenty of layered clothes. No RVs or pets please. Everyone will be encouraged to participate in the wilderness walks and group discussions about wilderness and climate-related forest issues. Need not be a Sierra Club member to attend. Entrance fees are payable to the park at the entrance station. A donationwill be requested to cover the $100 campsite cost. Limited to 25 people. RSVP requested.
