I started this group to give people a way to increase their fitness by walking in beautiful Fort Tryon Park. Our walks are punctuated with push ups, abdominal work, lunges, squats, and stretches for a complete workout. It's a great way to start the day. We meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 7:30 - 8:30 AM and every Saturday from 8:30 - 9:30 AM at the Margaret Corbin Circle entrance to Fort Tryon Park. We cater to all levels, come one and all.
Each time we meet, we make a circuit of the park. This is only about one mile distance, and we stay on the paved paths, but we go up and down the hills and steps in the park, incorporating various exercises along the way, and using no equipment other than the park "furniture" --benches, walls, steps, etc. We laugh and talk (sometimes too much!) and sometimes we have breakfast together afterward.
