Northern Manhattan Outside, or NoMO for short, is a group for New Yorkers to enjoy whatever gets us out into the great outdoors of Manhattan. NoMO is both a social group for northern Manhattanites and others to get together in a relaxed venue and an 'outdoors' group, for all New Yorkers who enjoy hiking, birdwatching, stargazing, kayaking, especially in and around northern Manhattan.
Many of the activities are designed to bring together northern Manhattan, New Jersey and Bronx neighbors to enjoy the parks and trails up here in Washington Heights, Inwood, the Bronx and Jersey. Other activities may include day hikes upstate in Harriman or Bear Mt. Park, a bald eagle watch on the Hudson in Manhattan, hiking in Cold Spring, bird watching, coyote watching in Central Park, excursions to Wave Hill, the Bronx Zoo, the Bronx Botanical Gardens or the Brooklyn Gardens (Hanami in the Spring!).

Both the area and the community of upper Manhattan are the main focus of this group, however all are most welcome!
