Manasquan Inlet meetup in June...

Hiya group! I am contemplating a June meetup down at Manasquan Inlet, NJ; it's about one hour away, but a very special place to be, as it's right on the water and very dog friendly! We had a meetup down there about 2 years ago, and everyone who'd attended had a great time! With this in mind, I need to know how many of you would be interested in this outing...I would once again schedule a Sunday and shoot for 1PM, so we have'd plenty of time for travel and less traffic! To pinpoint an exact day would be difficult to do right now, as I would need to apply for a permit, which is based on availability and number of attendees. Chances are that this will be the NNJPE's only meetup planned for June, so we will celebrating the group's 5 year anniverary on that day as well! Please take a moment to provide your feedback, via this poll. Thanks! Ellen

Care to chat (in our official NNJPE virtual chatroom)?

Hi All! As I look out at the dismal, cold, snowy weather, I believe that there's no better time than now to "clean the cobwebs" out of our group chat room and schedule our first virtual discussion for 2009. Let's all grab a cuppa joe (or tea, if you prefer), park ourselves in front of our computer & "meetup" for some interesting conversation! The chat would last approximately 1 hour- topics would vary & could consist of various diet, exercise, and health issues; of course, your suggestions for topics are welcome. Our "chatzy" website info is tacked onto the top portion of the Message Board; there, you will find out how to log in. You will also need our *official group password*, which will be sent to you within an email announcing our first scheduled chat. Please take a moment to cast your vote in this poll & select your preferred days & time as well, so that I may schedule a timeslot appropriate for as many participants as possible. Thanks & "see" you soon! Ellen

Regarding our Puggy Olympics event in September...

Hello Everyone! NNJPE member Tina's family has graciously offered to host our September Olympic event at their wonderful farm located in Middletown, New York. This is the question at hand: would you be willing to travel 45 minutes to one hour plus (depending upon where you reside, of course) to get there?

A day trip down to Manasquan Inlet; would you go?

Hello everyone! We've been tossing this idea around for a while and thinking how much fun it would be to take the Pugs down to a dog-friendly beach at the NJ shore...well, I've found the perfect location; Manasquan Inlet! It's very dog friendly and your Puggie could get some sand inbetween his/her toes! (If your Pug is into surfing, perhaps a "hang eight" would even be in order?!?). Anyway; a one-way trip would be approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes from a homebase of Ramsey, NJ...we could entertain carpooling and maybe research a "doggie party bus" if everyone is willing to chip in and if there is enough interest, I could research an dog-friendly outdoor cafe as well. We'd be looking to conduct this trip no later than Mid-May, so your timely feedback is appreciated. Thanks! Ellen

Brainstorming: The 2008 NNJPE Puggy Olympics!

What are your thoughts; how would it be to have a Puggy Olympics!?! Some of the "intense and grueling" competitions could include: 1. Fastest food gobbler 2. Toy toss tournament 3. Competitive Puggie dash 4. High jump 5. Tricks (of the trade?) 6. Obedience 101 7. Agility? These are just some spontaneous, random ideas I am tossing out, (and particulars would be open for discussion). All in all, I think this could be quite an enjoyable event and it would also enable our precious Pugs to show off their many *talents* among their Puggy peers! Please let me know what you think of this idea by taking part in this poll; thanks! My Pug "coulda been a contenda..."; well don't fret; if all goes well, he/she still could be! VOTE!
