2nd Sat. Ivy Pulls at Lacey Woods, in partnership with Arlington RiP

**The site leader, Nora Palmatier, will be working on laying out mulch paths in order to prevent informal trails from starting up.  This will protect wildlife habitat and sensitive vegetation from being trampled.  We hope you'll join us!**

Every 2nd Saturday from 10am-12pm, NVCT is co-sponsoring invasive removals at Lacey Woods Park in Arlington! We'll meet on the Frederick St. (west) side of the park and get an orientation from Nora Palmatier, Arlington Tree Steward and dedicated RiP volunteer, before heading off to the project of the day. **Make sure you're joining the group 11th and Frederick St. at 10 am; and NOT Washington Blvd and N. George Mason.  That location is North of where the group normally meets.** In 2 years of steady work all the ivy has been removed off the trees, and now we are slowly reclaiming the forest floor in targeted areas. Solomon's seal, wild ginger, and sensitive fern are just a few of the native species that are coming back as the ivy is removed. Join us, and help save nearby nature!

For more information on the history of this event, check out this write up by site leader, Nora Palmatier!
