Saturday's Volunteer Event at Dora Kelley in Alexandria

Hello everyone,

I wanted to update you all on the event this Saturday, April 7th! We are definitely on for this event, and the weather is expected to be fantastic. The nature center needs some help expanding a wildflower conservation plot by removing some multiflora rose bushes.

For those of you who haven't worked with multiflora before, let me warn you that it is covered in fish hook shaped thorns and can be very painful. Please come prepared. I would suggest that you wear long sleeves and pants. If you don't have gloves, there will be some provided.

This plant is a huge pest in this area, and definitely needs to come out. I hope you'll join us Saturday and battle this invasive shrub.

See you then!
