Jonathan Bates talk at GMU

Native to the D.C. area, Jonathan Bates, contributing author of the book Paradise Lot, will be speaking about his 10 year old edible forest garden in Holyoke, MA. By using the principles of permaculture design, Jonathan and his co-author Eric Toensmeier created a thriving edible ecosystem from a blighted dead landscape. Come learn about some of the hundreds of edible and useful plants that fill his abundant paradise. He will tell his challenge-to-opportunity story through vibrant pictures and enlightening discussion.

My son is organizing a neighbor hood food forest project for 4-H and has been in touch with Jonathan for sourcing planting materials. Is there any cost to attend? I can't see it :)

Would like to join but need a ride. Looking for a ride from venue to Reston, in case I don't find a bus on my way back.
